GOSI under the new Social Insurance Law (from 3 July 2024)
Enter the “first registration date” for each Saudi, and MEGA applies the right scheme and rate every month.
Since release 1.20.2 MEGA distinguishes three cases instead of one rate for all Saudis:
| Case | Employee | Employer |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi first registered before 3 July 2024 (previous law) | 9.75% (pension 9% + SANED 0.75%) | 11.75% (9% + SANED 0.75% + occupational hazards 2%) |
| Saudi first registered in their life from 3 July 2024 (new law) — October 2026 | 10.75% | 12.75% |
| Non-Saudi | 0% | 2% occupational hazards |
Under the new law the pension rate for each side steps up by payroll month: 9% (Jul 2024 – Jun 2025), 9.5% (Jul 2025 – Jun 2026), 10% (Jul 2026 – Jun 2027), 10.5% (Jul 2027 – Jun 2028), then 11% from July 2028 — plus SANED 0.75% each and 2% hazards on the employer. For example, in August 2027: employee 11.25%, employer 13.25%.
What you need to do
Enter the “Date of first GOSI registration (first time ever)” — MEGA picks the scheme automatically. Or set the “GOSI scheme” by hand: automatic / new law / previous law.
Save, then in “Payroll” press “Recalculate” for the current month if it is not approved.
Where the rates show
- Payslip: the GOSI line shows the rate and scheme (e.g. “10.75% — new law”).
- Printed register: an “Applied GOSI rates” line per scheme with its headcount; the payroll screen shows employee and employer rates under the amount.
- GOSI reconciliation (Government files → GOSI) uses the same calculation, and difference notes mention the scheme and rate.
